A Storm is Coming!

Snowstorm

Oregon Ohio Police Division recently issued the following announcement.

With the forecasted winter storm predicted for Wednesday and Thursday, we ask that residents begin to make alternative arrangements for vehicles that usually park on the roadway.  It is likely that the Mayor or Director of Public Service for the City of Oregon will declare a snow emergency.  With that said, no vehicles are permitted to be parked on the roadway, in compliance of Oregon Municipal Code 351.17.  Any vehicle found to be parked on the roadway after the snow emergency is declared, will be issued a parking citation and towed at the owner’s expense.  The Oregon Police Division will continue to post updates on our social media outlets related to any snow emergency, if one is declared, when it is declared, and when it is lifted.  The information will also be forwarded to all news media by the City of Oregon.

The Oregon Police Division does not want to have to issue any parking citations, nor tow any vehicles that are parked on the streets during this storm.  Please park your vehicle accordingly to help us avoid having to do so.

As always, if you have an emergency, you should call 9-1-1.  If you need non-emergency Police, Fire, or EMS assistance, please call the Dispatch Center at 419-255-8443
