Maumee Streetscape Advertisement For Bid

City of Maumee issued the following announcement on Feb 14.

Sealed proposals for Maumee Streetscape Improvements will be received by the City of Maumee until 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 1, 2022. No faxed or unsealed bids will be accepted.

Bidding Documents will be available for viewing (at no charge) beginning on Tuesday, February 8, 2022, during business hours at Maumee City Hall, 400 Conant Street, Maumee, OH 43537. Bidding Documents may be viewed digi- tally (at no charge) or purchased, both digitally and in hard copy format, from Newfax Corporation, 333 W. Woodruff, Toledo, OH (https://www.newfaxcorp. com/bid-projects-and-listings/bidder_ listing_main.html or 419.241.5157 or 800.877.5157). Costs to purchase are as follows: hard copy only $352.00; hard copy and digital download $377.00; digi- tal download only $264.00.

Questions about the project can be asked of the Project Landscape Archi- tect/Engineer, Beckett & Raeder, Inc. via e-mail (contact: Christy Summers at csummers@bria2.com). Last day for questions is February 22, 2022 at 5:00 p.m.

A Mandatory Pre-bid Meeting will be held on Tuesday, February 15, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. at Maumee City Hall, 2nd Floor Conference Room, 400 Conant Street, Maumee, OH 43537.

The project is located within the City of Maumee in the Uptown area. Work includes, but is not limited to: soil erosion and sedimentation control, concrete pavement removal, asphalt and under- lying pavement removal, miscellaneous demolition, HMA milling, rough and finish grading, concrete curb and gutter placement, concrete pavement place- ment, steel decorative arch fabrication and installation, traffic signalization, HMA pavement placement, site electri- cal, concrete foundations, site furnish- ings, storm drains and piping, site land- scape, and irrigation.

Contract award for the project is antici- pated in March 2022. Construction shall commence by or before April 15, 2022. Work is expected to span the 2022 and 2023 construction seasons. A small amount of milling, resurfacing, and strip- ing is anticipated to extend into spring 2024 construction season. Total time allotted for the project is twenty-five 25 months (including winter months).

Interpretation of Documents: If any bidder is in doubt as to the true mean- ing of any part of the plans, specifica- tions, or contract documents, he / she may request in writing interpretation thereof provided the request is received by Beckett & Raeder, Inc. in sufficient time to issue an addendum to all bidders. No explanations or interpretations made verbally will be considered binding.

Bonds: Each proposal shall be accom- panied by a certified check or bid bond by a registered surety in the amount of 5% of the total bid price. The successful bidder will be required to furnish satis- factory performance and labor & materi- als bonds in the amount of 100% of the contract price.

The Owner reserves the right to reject any proposal, waive irregularities in proposals and accept any proposal that is considered to be in the best interest of the Client. The Owner reserves the right to conduct a post-bid interview with any or all bidders. Only bids in accordance with the specifications will be consid- ered.

No proposal may be withdrawn for a period of thirty (30) calendar days after the opening of proposals. Refer to the City of Maumee website at www. Maumee.org for Proposal to Bid informa- tion.
