City of Toledo issued the following announcement on Mar 17.
The City of Toledo, in partnership with the Board of Lucas County Commissioners, Keep Toledo/Lucas County Beautiful, and Ohio Clean Marinas, are excited to offer individuals and marinas the opportunity to recycle their boat shrink wrap this spring.
It is estimated that between 10,000 and 20,000 tons of this hard to recycle material is sent to landfills every year. We can do better in Toledo. This year recycle your boat wrap through this free program.
Boat wrap can be dropped off for recycling at the Lucas County Solid Waste Management District by making an appointment at 419-213-2207. Also, this year we will be hosting 5 collection events:
April 16th, 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.

In order for boat wrap to be recycled, all nylon straps and any other non-shrink wrap material must be removed. It must also be properly bundled. More information and a how-to video on properly preparing boat wrap for recycling can be found at www.ktlcb.org.
Also, at each of these events we will also be collecting packaging styrofoam (extruded polystyrene foam). Only white styrofoam packaging and coolers will be accepted. All tape, stickers, and other contaminants must be removed. No styrofoam egg cartons, take-out food containers, plates, or cups. These items will not be accepted.
