Road Construction in Project 8 & 9 Sewer Separation Scope Area

Sewercover

Village of Swanton issued the following announcement on Mar 25.

The contractor for Project 8 & 9 Sewer Separation notified the Village of Swanton of their intent to begin work three weeks early, tentatively on March 28, weather contingent.

Road work will take place in four (4) phases and span until summer 2022. Complete details and updates on timelines will be posted on the Village’s website, and social media sites, throughout the remainder of the project. Please click here for details of each phase.

Phase 1 is set to begin, tentatively, on March 28 and will center on W. Garfield, between Browning and Munson. The work will include roadway excavation, installation of stone base and concrete curbs. During this phase there will be no parking permitted on W. Garfield, between Browning and Munson. Further, those who reside on W. Garfield, between Browning and Munson, will not have access to their driveways or allowed to park in their lawns during this time. Parking will be permitted on the north side of W. Garfield between Elton’s Parkway and Browning. Contractor will work with residents who may need extra assistance.

W. Garfield will be one way traffic, westbound from Elton’s Parkway to Browning and closed from Browning to Munson; W. Garfield will remain two way between Elton’s Parkway and Main Street.

Mail delivery, garbage/recycling, UPS, FedEx, etc. will be able to provide their services but it may take a little longer due to the equipment on W. Garfield during this Phase.

For the past two years, the Village has stressed the inconvenience of this project. The sewer separation is a mandate through the State of Ohio. Repairing the roads, as a result of the underground infrastructure work, is the next step. We appreciate everyone’s cooperation and patience during this time.
