Texting and driving hampers the safety of everyone

Fresh back from vacation, I was reminded by a friend about the dangers of texting and driving. Yes, the offspring have all returned to school and we should always be extra cautious in our travels. Traffic congestion has also increased, and the weather is still nice. Great weather brings out motorcyclists and pedestrians trying to capture the last glorious days of summer, and they should enjoy the safety of their leisurely travels around Lucas County. Maybe even a quick pitstop at Mr. Freeze (BTW, last day on McCord is September 11 and Perrysburg is September 25th). Texting and driving hampers the safety of everyone, and we should strive to put those phones down. Is an emoji ,  “ROFL”, “LOL”, or quick glance worth an accident or the acronym D.O.A.? Is it worth being mentioned on the Toledo Scanner Facebook group (I enjoy the page)? It starts with all of us working together by putting the phones down, and paying attention to the road. The text can wait until you get to your destination. Imagine the suspense you will keep the “sender” in while getting to wherever you are going.  With that said, I share a good meme.

Stay Safe!
