I just happened to come across a “message” posted to a community members Facebook account that follows us. This was based on something she shared from our public page. No, I do not stalk you. Things pop up here randomly on the “Facebook” from time to time depending on shares or commentary. Observation, people should probably tone down those “snap chat” filtered profile pictures.
Unfortunately, we get “scammers” attempting to prey on the savvy ladies that frequent our social media joint. You know, those guys allegedly looking for love? Oddly, their search it is in all the wrong places. Their profiles are set up to appear as astronauts, high ranking military officials, and even jet setting bachelors on the prowl. This gives me creepy “90 Day Fiancé” vibes (this is not an admission I watch it). I guess it is flattering they come to the Lucas County Sheriff’s Office Page but I am not sure why they would. I doubt they have ever seen our snow advisories, driven a roundabout, or care to comment on OVI checkpoints. However, we are not a dating site or Tinder. Yes ladies, this Kenneth Todorov profile is not real (bummer). In the case of Brig. Gen. Kenneth E. Todorov, his photos were hijacked and are being used for unscrupulous practices by some scoundrel(s). You may get a friend request or private message from them. In some cases, the brazen overseas Prince Charming will post publicly on your page attempting to garner your attention. Do not respond. Please report their account, delete them and/or block these guys. Our page promises to do the same if they are seen or reported. They are attempting to victimize an unsuspecting person financially.
It is also National Thank A Cop Day. Thank you to all of our criminal justice partners in the real world.
Lucas County weather this week is at level "Just Kidding, another mini-summer" with Autumn making an appearance beginning Friday.
