Federal Programs Annual Updates & Notice of Public Hearing on November 28, 2022

Title I Services - The federal Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) requires school districts that receive Title I funds to notify parents that they may request, and the district will provide, information regarding the professional qualifications of their student’s classroom teachers and paraprofessionals. Gateway Middle School and Fort Miami Elementary School are Maumee’s Title I served schools. If you have questions about the qualifications and/or licensure of staff members who are working with your child, please contact the building principal directly.

Title I Parent Participation - Maumee City Schools is always seeking ideas to help us improve parent involvement in Title I funded events/programs. Information about Maumee's Title I policies is published on the school district website under the FEDERAL PROGRAMS tab. If you have ideas about how we can improve parent participation or allocate Title I funds reserved for parent involvement activities, please email them to nsayre@maumeek12.org. Annually, the Superintendent’s Parent Council (which has parent representation from all Maumee schools) reviews all federal programs documents and the district holds an annual Federal Programs public hearing (this year the hearing is November 28 at 2 p.m. at the district’s Administration Offices – 716 Askin Street). All interested parents and community members are invited to attend and provide input about how federal programs money received is allocated.

Student Assessments and Academic Intervention Services - The Maumee Board of Education has policies in place related to student assessments and academic intervention services. Links to these policies and other important testing information can be found on the school district website under the FEDERAL PROGRAMS tab.

State Report Card Data - Each year the State of Ohio/Ohio Department of Education release a report card for each school district and school in Ohio. You can always find this information on the Maumee City School website under the ACADEMICS page heading.
