Tell us a little bit about yourself.
I have lived in Ohio my whole life, starting in NE Ohio in a small township called Bazetta which is home to Mosquito Lake. I moved to Toledo in 2006 to finish my undergraduate degree at UT. I currently live in Perrysburg with my amazing wife Katherine, and our two daughters Ava and Isla.
What brought you to the Chamber?
The chamber is an outstanding organization with a great reputation. I pursued the opportunity to not only better myself and my career but to also help Toledo grow and thrive.
What do you hope to accomplish in your role at the Chamber?
I hope to grow the membership to new heights and help to engage our members so that they can grow along with our tremendous region.
What do you look forward to doing in your role?
The opportunity to meet with many new people and help them connect with the Chamber is exciting. Learning is also something I enjoy and there are plenty of opportunities for that here at The Chamber.
What is your proudest career achievement?
Helping to grow Toledo Spirits to where it is now. I led the sales team from nine bottles sold in my first month to averaging almost 3000 bottles per month in my fifth year.
And now to get a little more personal...
Tell us a fun fact about yourself.
Every year in November, starting at the age of six, I worked on a turkey farm to provide thousands of families with fresh turkeys for the holidays. Details can be a little gruesome, but I will gladly walk you through the whole process if you want to know!
What is your favorite book or movie?
When it comes to books usually the last one I read is the current favorite. I enjoy all the Jack Reacher books by Lee Child when I am looking for an easy read. I recently read Think Again by Adam Grant and it was illuminating to say the least.
When it comes to a favorite movie it is hard to choose. I would want to break it down into categories and list several. To name a few, The Usual Suspects, The Game, or The Truman Show all stand out. They are very different movies in different genres, but all have a great twist or unique concept.
What is your favorite meal or food?
I am pretty basic when it comes to a favorite food, I love a good steak. However, if there were one thing that I would not be able to give up it would be ice cream. Ice cream is the best dessert always.
Tell us about some of your favorite hobbies or things you are passionate about.
I am an avid runner and an active member in F3 (Fitness, Fellowship, and Faith). F3’s mission is to plant, grow and serve small workout groups for men for the invigoration of male community leadership.
I am also a cocktail enthusiast, working at Toledo Spirits gave me the opportunity to learn a lot about spirits and craft cocktails. I wouldn’t say I’m a mixologist, but I can make a great drink.
