There were 5,907 white students enrolled in Sylvania Schools in the 2022-23 school year, an increase from the 5,905 white students in the previous school year, according to the Ohio Department of Education & Workforce.

Data showed that Sylvania Schools welcomed 7,702 students during the 2022-23 school year. Among them, white students made up 76.7% of the student body, making them the most represented ethnicity in the district.

Sylvania Schools roughly covers 13 schools within Lucas County and has its main office in Sylvania.

Among the 13 schools in Sylvania Schools, Sylvania Northview High School recorded the highest enrollment of white students in the 2022-23 school year, with a total of 1,103 students.

In 2022, Ohio saw an average student-to-teacher ratio of approximately 1:15, which is better than the national average of 1:16. This marks an improvement for the state, especially compared to 2016, when the ratio reached its decade-high at 16.1 students per teacher.

Despite the apparent improvement, this positive trend is overshadowed by a general decline in public school enrollments, which was accelerated by the pandemic. This decline, aligned with the steady number of teachers in the state over the last 10 years, has led to low student-to-teacher ratios.
