As road construction season is upon us, we are continuing to communicate with you regarding transportation due to several major road construction projects this spring:
- Currently underway - bridge work on Central Ave. near Wilwood Metropark
- Scheduled to begin within a week or so - roundabout at Brint Rd. and Centennial Rd.
- Likely to start near the end of March - bridge on Silica Rd. and intersection at Monroe St. and Silica Rd.
Students who ride the bus:
Unless parents/guardians receive communication from our Transportation Department regarding a change to your child’s bus route or stop time, please continue to have children wait for the bus at the usual time. We will be monitoring the routes as the construction begins and may make adjustments once traffic has settled into the new pattern. Bus delays will be communicated as needed.
Bus Stop App - StopFinder is our bus stop app. This useful tool allows users to see when the bus comes within a custom zone that you create. For security, you must receive access through the Transportation Department. If you no longer have the access code that was emailed to you, please send an email to transportation@sylvaniaschools.org or call 419-824-8686. Please note that the previous app, Zonar MyView, will no longer be active beginning April 1.
Students who are dropped off or drive to school:
We recommend that drivers watch the City of Sylvania’s video regarding the road closures, traffic pattern changes and overall road construction plan..

We appreciate our partnership with the City of Sylvania. Careful consideration was given to the timing of the project which allowed us to end a school year with the construction near Northview rather than starting next year with construction. Although this will take a lot of patience from everyone who drives in the area, we are confident that the completed project will be a great improvement for traffic going forward.
